The things we want, cherish, need—in abundance and out in the open.  They are for sale, or free for the taking—grown, manufactured and on display.  We eat them, drink them, and in them we protect ourselves from the elements.  On a philosophical level, they  represent ‘us’, yet they are superficial.   With them, we make choices—choices like cherries over oranges, bicycles over hats, bracelets over postcards, or industries over gods.
